Why do I need headphones?
Binaural beats work by playing slightly different frequencies in each ear. Your brain perceives the difference as a third tone, which helps guide your brainwaves. Without headphones, both ears hear the same sound and the effect doesn't work. Any stereo headphones will work—wired or wireless.
Which goal should I choose?
Sleep uses delta waves (2 Hz) for deep rest—best before bed. Meditate uses theta waves (6 Hz) for mindful stillness. Focus uses beta waves (20 Hz) for concentration and productivity. Relax uses alpha waves (10 Hz) to release tension. Explore uses low theta (4 Hz) for creativity and insight.
How long should my sessions be?
Start with 10-15 minutes and work your way up. Many people find 20-30 minutes ideal for a meaningful session. For sleep, you can set longer durations and let it play as you drift off.
Is it safe?
Binaural beats are generally considered safe for most people. However, if you have epilepsy or a history of seizures, consult your doctor before use. If you experience any discomfort, stop using the app.
The app isn't making sound
Make sure your phone isn't on silent mode and the volume is turned up. Check that headphones are properly connected. If using Bluetooth headphones, ensure they're paired and selected as the audio output.
Can I use it while doing other things?
Yes! The app continues playing in the background. Focus mode works great while working or studying. Just make sure you're not doing anything that requires your full attention if you're using Sleep or Meditate modes.
What are the nature sounds for?
Nature sounds are optional and layer on top of the binaural beats. They can make the experience more pleasant and help mask other environmental noise. The binaural effect works with or without them.
How do I delete my data?
All your data is stored locally on your device. To delete it completely, simply delete the app. We don't store any of your data on our servers because we don't have any servers—everything stays on your phone.
